On Monday, April 13, Holmen High School is hosting our first-ever 90’s Day: Disconnect to Connect.
This optional, student-focused day is all about stepping away from screens and leaning into real, face-to-face connection — just like the good ol’ days. 🙌
🌀 What to expect:
• Go tech-free (or tech-light) for the day
• Keep devices out of sight to spark real conversations
• Rock your best 90s fit 🎶
• Be present. Be connected. Be human.
Ms. O’Neill’s Agriculture & Landscaping classes traded the classroom for the outdoors as they spent part of the day at the School District of Holmen Learning Orchard—where learning truly came to life. 🌳✂️
Surrounded by rows of apple trees and the early signs of spring growth, students rolled up their sleeves and got to work, applying the pruning techniques they’ve been learning in class. With guidance from orchard manager David Shefelbine, students didn’t just learn what to do—they learned why it matters. From understanding how proper pruning supports healthy growth to seeing firsthand how each cut impacts the future of the tree, it was a lesson rooted in real-world experience.
This is what learning looks like in Holmen—real, relevant, and rooted in experience. 🌱💪
