📚🥞 A Morning of Breakfast, Books & Family Time at Viking Elementary 💙

Today was one of those mornings that reminds us how special our school community is. Families joined their children for breakfast in the lunchroom and then spent time together in the Viking Library reading, relaxing, and enjoying meaningful moments before the school day began.

Events like this are a wonderful way to celebrate family engagement, foster a love of reading, and start the day on a positive note. Every child who participated also received a book to take home and keep—helping extend the joy of reading beyond the school day.

📅 We’re excited to share that the next Breakfast & Books morning will take place in March, and we look forward to welcoming families back for another special start to the day.

🚑 Hands-On Learning at Lunch! 🍎

Today during lunch, students took part in hands-on, real-world learning right in the cafeteria thanks to Zeena Ott’s Community Awareness DECA project and Tri-State Ambulance.

Students rotated through a few quick, interactive stations focused on emergency response skills, safety awareness, and what to do in real-life situations. It was a great opportunity to refresh important skills and learn directly from professionals—all in a fun, engaging way.

A big thank you to Zeena for doing this project and to Tri-State Ambulance for partnering with our schools and bringing meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities to our students. This is a great example of student leadership, community connection, and learning beyond the classroom!
