Holmen built on a strong second half Tuesday night to earn an 82–75 non-conference victory over Eau Claire North at home.
The Vikings edged ahead 33–31 at halftime in a tightly contested first half, then came out with great energy after the break, putting up 49 points in the second half to create just enough separation down the stretch.
Holmen was led by a balanced scoring attack, with four players finishing in double figures. Jayden Bartels paced the Vikings with 20 points, shooting efficiently from the floor, while Alex Berget added 17 points and knocked down all three of his free throws. Cohen Kendhammer provided a big boost inside with 15 points, and Jax Meyer chipped in 11 to round out the double-digit scorers.
The Vikings shot 54% from the field and were especially strong inside, converting 64% of their two-point attempts. Holmen also took care of business at the free throw line, hitting 16 of 19 attempts, which proved crucial in holding off Eau Claire North’s late push.
Eau Claire North was led by Tyler Barrows and Landon Knecht with 17 points each, but Holmen’s offensive balance and timely stops down the stretch helped secure the win.
With the victory, Holmen continues to build momentum as the season moves forward, showing depth, efficiency, and poise in a competitive home matchup. They will be back in action at Home on Thursday vs Onalaska.
