The Holmen boys basketball team battled throughout the night but fell to La Crosse Aquinas, 80–56, in a conference matchup on Thursday evening.
Holmen stayed competitive in the first half and went into the break trailing 37–29. Aquinas, however, found its rhythm offensively in the second half, shooting efficiently from the floor and extending the lead as the game progressed.
Despite the final score, the Vikings continued to compete on both ends of the floor and showed stretches of strong ball movement and defensive effort against a talented Aquinas lineup. The game provided another valuable test as Holmen continues to grow through conference play.
Holmen will look to respond when they return home to face Central on Tuesday, January 27.
