The Onalaska Invitational on May 13th proved to be a memorable day for both the Holmen girls’ and boys’ track and field teams! Even though the meet ended early with lighting, there were still many highlight worthy accomplishments.

In the high jump, Alexa Szak achieved the 2nd best height in school history! Andre de la Rosa ran a personal best in the 400 after coming back from injury. Both athletes will be big parts of the Varsity team trying to win a conference championship.

The girls’ squad showcased some incredible performances. Abry Bloyer had the 9th best jump in school history in the long jump. Adding to the excitement, the distance runners ran a fast 4x200m Relay team and blazed to a 1st Place finish! The girls had 8 first place finishes even with two events not being run because of weather.

The boys’ team also had a stellar outing, highlighted by their 4x200m Relay squad clocking the 3rd Fastest time in school history, which also stands as a new Junior Record!  The sprinters were on fire, securing Top 3 finishes in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes. The distance crew also contributed significantly, with an impressive 3 Personal Records achieved in the 800m Run!

Overall, the Onalaska Invitational was the last regular season meet and it represented another strong day for the Holmen Vikings. Our JV athletes get one more opportunity to compete at conference championships, and the varsity athletes are looking to sweep the MVC conference titles!
