Holmen Vikings

May 2, 2025 – Holmen, WI

The Holmen Vikings gave their hometown fans plenty to cheer about Friday night, delivering a commanding 10–0 victory over the visiting Logan Rangers in five innings.

Senior pitcher Aaron Ploszay was lights-out on the mound, throwing a complete game shutout while allowing just two hits and striking out seven. With pinpoint control and a steady presence, Ploszay earned the win and kept Logan’s offense quiet all evening.

From the opening pitch, Holmen’s bats came alive. Jude Anderson set the tone at the top of the order, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, three runs scored, and a stolen base. Joe Meeter made the most of his lone official at-bat, recording a double, an RBI, and two walks, while also swiping a base.

The middle of the Vikings’ lineup kept the pressure on. Noah Oswald and Abe Henderson each drove in three runs, with Oswald roping a double and Henderson reaching base in all four of his plate appearances, including being hit twice.

Brennon Metzler added a spark with a triple and an RBI, and Alex Goryl chipped in with a double and a run batted in. As a team, the Vikings collected eight hits, including six for extra bases, and stole three bags on the night.

Holmen’s offense was balanced and opportunistic, plating runs in every inning and erupting for five runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game via the run rule. The Vikings also played a clean game defensively, committing no errors and stranding just three Logan runners.

With this win, Holmen continues to build momentum in conference play and shows they are a team to watch down the stretch. Viking fans can look forward to more exciting baseball ahead as the team keeps firing on all cylinders.
