Holmen Vikings

The Willard Hanson Invitational at La Crosse Central High School on May 8th was a memorable day filled with outstanding performances.
Bailey Sommerville made a strong showing for the girls improving her 800m time with late start to season due to injury, and volunteered to fill in for 4×400. Ethan Swaney led the boys by achieving a PR in both of the hurdles races. His times put our team in a better position for conference standings.
The girls 4x100m relay team of Alivia Wickstrom, Abry Bloyer, Hadley Johnson, and Lydia Lazarescu broke the school record with a time of 49.34! All 3 triple jumpers achieved PRs with Sadie Mayer breaking 30 ft. for the first time. The future of the team looks bright, with lots of freshmen achieving personal records (PRs). Lahna Bloyer made a strong statement, putting herself in contention for a varsity Conference spot in the 300m hurdles.
Andre de la Rosa made a successful return from injury, delivering two strong races., and Alex Berget recorded a huge PR in the 100m Dash. We had 5 PRs in the distance races with the trio of Torin Houston, Spencer Lowman, and Jackson Ver Steeg all doing it in the 1600m run.
Another great day for Holmen has kept up the momentum for the end of the season. The performances at Central gave us even more chances to win the conference and have a great showing for the postseason.
