Fans filled the stands as it was a perfect night for lacrosse at Logan’s Swanson Field. The #16
seed Lightning Lacrosse (7-5) hosted the #17 seed Notre Dame Academy Tritons (7-12) in a first
round playoff game. This was the third meeting for these teams, with each team winning at
home during the season.

Notre Dame Academy scored the game’s first goal, but the Lightning struck 5 times in the first
period to lead 5-1 after one quarter. The Tritons won the second period to close halftime with
the Lightning leading 6-3. The Lightning sealed the game with a strong third period to extended
their lead to 10-4. The lightning found the net one more time in the fourth quarter to win 11-4.
La Crosse advances to the second round of playoffs, where they will meet the #1 seed
Waunakee on Friday.

The Lightning Lacrosse team is a varsity level WIAA sanctioned seven school co-op hosted by La
Crosse Central and comprised of the following schools: La Crosse Aquinas, Onalaska Luther, La
Crosse Central, La Crosse Logan, Holmen, Onalaska, and West Salem. The Lightning plays as an
independent team this year and will be part of the Badger Conference in the 2026 season.
