The Old Abe Invitational at Eau Claire Memorial High School on May 2nd showcased several outstanding achievements.

Brenna Schmidt set a new school record in the Shot Put by throwing 41-06 and winning the meet while getting 2nd in the discus.  Breeding Grandt had another great day by posting a PR in both hurdle races and qualifying for the Myrhum Invitational. 

Chloe Jones qualified for the Myrhum Invite in the triple jump, highlighting her excellence in the event. The 4×100 and 4×200 sprint relays also delivered strong performances, achieving top 10 times in school history. In a thrilling race, Lydia Lazarescu made a remarkable comeback in the 4x400m relay, overcoming a 20m deficit to secure the gold. Despite the cold rain, Sophia Jacobson, Kaytlynn Lambries, and Hadley Johnson achieved double PRs, showcasing their resilience. 

The boys 4x200m relay team also posted the 3rd fastest time in school history! All five 100m Dash runners achieved new personal records, demonstrating exceptional speed. The Long Jump event saw strong competition, with three athletes finishing in the top 4. Sam Burke had a successful day, achieving double PRs in both the 100m and 200m dashes.

This meet gave us a great start to May! With only a couple of weeks before conference, we feel the team is just getting better and better!
