Holmen Volleyball Sweeps Aquinas in Home Opener
The Holmen volleyball program delivered a clean sweep on Tuesday night (9/2), as JV1, JV2, and Varsity each claimed victories in straight sets over Aquinas.
The Varsity squad continued its unbeaten start to the season, defeating the Blugolds 3-0 with set scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-21. With the win, Holmen improves to 9-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
The Vikings were led by senior Brenna Schmidt, who recorded 11 kills, and senior Charley Casey, who added 6 kills. Junior Moira Linse provided a spark at the service line with 6 aces while also contributing 4 kills. Defensively, senior Macy Kline anchored the back row with 23 digs. Setting duties were shared by seniors Sadie Mayer and Makenna McHugh, who each tallied 13 assists.
Holmen will look to keep the momentum rolling when they travel to La Crosse Central on Thursday, September 4th, for their next conference matchup.
