Holmen vs Onalaska

The Holmen Varsity team emerged victorious with a 4-2 win over Onalaska in a hard-fought matchup on May 12. The game was close throughout, but a two-run fifth inning was the turning point that gave Holmen the lead they would not relinquish.
Onalaska struck first, plating two runs in the third inning, but Holmen quickly responded in the bottom of the fifth with two runs of their own. Holmen then added another pair of runs in the sixth inning to secure the win.
Aaron Ploszay was strong on the mound for Holmen, going six innings, allowing only three hits and two earned runs while striking out ten batters. Brayden Wall closed the game in the seventh inning, earning the save with a perfect inning.
At the plate, Holmen was led by Brennon Metzler, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Braeden Linse, who also contributed with a hit and an RBI. Tyler Rosenow and Abe Henderson added key contributions with a hit each and runs scored. Onalaska’s Bradyn DeLong pitched well despite the loss, striking out six batters but giving up four runs on five hits.
Holmen’s defense was solid, with Aaron Ploszay controlling the game on the mound and Brayden Wall securing the final out. Onalaska couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities, stranding five runners on base.
The win improves Holmen’s record as they continue their strong season.
