The G.E.T. Quadrangular Track Meet on April 11th was a day filled with impressive performances and exciting breakthroughs! The strength of the girls throwing program was evident as every thrower surpassed the 20-foot mark in the shot put. The boys’ team showcased tremendous improvement, racking up an astounding 35 personal records across 27 athletes.
Aubrey Hauser had a great day as she won the long jump while being part of a fast sprint medley relay team. Claire Stevenson ran a top 25 time in the state in the 300m hurdles and her 100m dash time was top 10 in the meet.
Camden Thiele soared to a significant 1.5-foot personal best in the pole vault and also clocked a PR in the 100m dash. Ben Magozzi launched an impressive 23-foot personal record in the discus, and started for our fast 4×100 thrower relay team!
The girls had the top 6 finishers in the high jump: Alexa Szak, Sophia Jacobson, Lauren Schindler, Megan Jamesson, and Olivia Matt. Ella Everson and Carlin O’Hearn cleared their first jumps in pole vault, and they had 5 of the top 6 spots in the long jump. Additionally, the girls team had 5 new members of the team place in the top 10 of the 100m dash. An exciting glimpse into the future came from the young sprint medley relay team of Aubrey Hauser, Ella Everson, Hadley Johnson, and Kaytlynn Lambries, who outpaced last year’s varsity team. Olivia Matt also had a great showing in the 300m hurdles with a state top 25 time. Linley Regan and Chloe Jones showcased great sprint depth with strong performances in both the 100m and 200m.
On the boys side, Kalvin Lor had a stellar day, achieving personal bests in all three of his events. Adam Marcou celebrated a milestone, breaking the 17-foot barrier in the long jump for the first time. Jacob Simmons blazed through the 200m in under 24 seconds. Ryland Eickhoff and Peyton Peterson were first and second in the 100m dash, Matt Hoff took home another win in the 800m run, and Kyle Dreyer took home first in the discus. Additionally, 7 of the relays teams took 1st or 2nd on the day.
It was a strong start to the outdoor season and the team is looking forward to accomplishing even more!
