The Melrose-Mindoro Freshman/Sophomore track meet on May 12th showcased impressive performances from both the girls’ and boys’ teams. Both teams placed first out of 9 teams!

Shawn Domack had a big day! She had a triple PR in the long jump, triple jump, and 200m dash showing her amazing coachability and improvement. Calvin Xiong, after a lot of time and effort, PRd in the pole vault with a jump of 10-6 and he helped the 4x100m relay team break the sophomore record!

The girls’ team also had big Triple Jump and 200m PRs, and the 300m hurdlers all had a big day. They also demonstrated relay domination (winning the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400), and it was a big day for the 800m runners. 

The boys’ team set new Sophomore Records in the 4x100m and 4x400m Relays, and a new Freshmen Record in the 4x200m Relay. The boys also took 1st and 2nd place in the 100m Dash, and 2nd and 3rd place in the Shot Put.

This meet exhibited the strength of our underclassmen, and the bright future we have as a team!
