The OHA-GET swim team continues its winning streak, now standing at 5-0 after capturing the team title at the Baraboo BOO Relays. OHA-GET scored 348 points to edge Monona Grove (332), while Baraboo (154), Sauk Prairie (150), and Black River Falls (112) rounded out the top five. The team showed its depth and speed by winning 6 of the 9 relays.
The meet started and finished with wins for OHA-GET. The 200-yard medley relay team of Bethany Hale, Josie Rupple, Elin Gilles, and Lydia Foster opened the night with a victory. Momentum continued in the 500 crescendo relay, where Alivia Wickstrom, Lydia Hale, Claire Churchill, and Onnalee Wolff earned first place. The quartet of Claire Eddy, Laney Brandl, Churchill, and Zeena Ott added a strong runner-up finish in the 400 medley relay.
In one of the team’s best swims of the season, the 200 freestyle relay of Foster, Wolff, Ott, and B. Hale posted a season-best time of 1:45.09 to take first. The team of Gilles, Rupple, L. Hale, and Wickstrom kept the wins rolling with a victory in the 200 medley (50 fly/back–50 br/fr) relay, while Aubrey Ebersold, Jillian Wise, Wolff, and Gilles sprinted to first in the 300 butterfly relay.
Depth again showed in the 200 medley (8×25) relay, where L. Hale, Ott, Rupple, Wickstrom, Eddy, Ebersold, Brandl, and Foster combined for third place. OHA-GET added another podium finish with a second-place effort in the 300 breaststroke relay from Sofia Gerlach, Ellie Witcik, Brandl, and Rupple.
The night closed on a high note as the 400 freestyle relay of B. Hale, Ott, Wolff, and Foster powered to a season-best time, securing the team’s sixth relay victory of the meet.
Every swimmer contributed to the team’s success and the impressive overall win. OHA-GET will return to competition next weekend in Chippewa Falls, with racing set to begin at 10 a.m.
