LA CROSSE — The Holmen boys basketball team came up short on the road Wednesday night, falling 59–45 to La Crosse Central in a conference matchup on December 11.
Central built a strong first-half advantage, taking a 36–19 lead into the break behind efficient scoring and control of the tempo. Holmen showed improvement offensively in the second half, outscoring the Red Raiders 26–23 after halftime, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Junior Cohen Kendhammer led the Vikings with a team-high 15 points, including three three-pointers while shooting 50 percent from the field. Jax Meyer and Alex Berget each added nine points, and Brody Wilber chipped in five for Holmen.
Holmen finished the night shooting 38 percent from the floor and knocked down five shots from beyond the arc. Central was led by Servais (15 points), Schilling (14 points), and Jones (12 points), combining for 41 of the Red Raiders’ 59 points.
The Vikings will look to regroup as they are back at home on Saturday night!
